And guess what — the time of our FANN FALL GATHERING – DEC. 9 – turns out to be one of the less expensive times to stay there! So if you’ve been dreaming about a weekend or more at a Real Florida beach, now’s the time to put your plan into action.

From Nov 25 – Dec. 17, Captiva transforms itself into a “Holiday Village” with all kinds of fun events, displays and opportunities that are great for families or couples looking to relax and enjoy the island lifestyle. If you want to get a head start on a Real Florida Christmas or winter holiday, you couldn’t pick a better place to be.

Dec. 9-10-11 has been designated “Country Christmas Weekend” and country music legend and Grammy Award winner Charlie McCoy, who has played with Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan, Elvis Presley and Simon & Garfunkle, will be playing under the tent at the corner of Captiva Drive and Andy Rosse Lane. Time TBD but probably AFTER FANN’s 4:00-7:00pm cookout & social, so you’ll have time to get to the concert – it’s just 15 minutes away on Captiva Island. Charlie McCoy has produced 35 solo albums ranging from old time rock-n-roll, good times country tunes, blues, traditional hymns and true Appalachian music, so there’ll be something for everyone.

And on the following Saturday, Dec. 10, you can enjoy another concert and a lighted boat parade. So plan to get away that weekend — there are some surprisingly affordable holiday lodging packages on Captiva.

We think you’ll be pleasantly surprised at some of the prices. Motel 6 it ain’t, accommodation or pricewise, but it’s not outrageous either.
