The second annual Groundcover Restoration & Enhancement Workshop is scheduled for Friday, April 26, 2024, from 8:00am-5:00pm at the Austin Cary Forest in Gainesville, Florida. Hosted by the University of Florida IFAS School of Forest, Fisheries, and Geomatic Sciences, the aim of this workshop is to bring together working professionals to collaborate on current topics and research related to [native] groundcover restoration and enhancement in Florida. Two chief topics that will be discussed at this workshop are:
Both topics will have a set of speakers and will be followed by panel-led discussions. The goal is to foster collaborative dialogue on current issues and emerging topics surrounding the use of native seed in producing and planting native groundcover. This workshop should be of interest to any Florida/SE U.S. environmental, horticulture or landscape professional interested in native seed production and use for planting and restoration of native groundcover, including large and small-scale meadows and other alternatives to turf dominated landscapes.
