Cardno is seeking experienced Landscape Installation Technician to contribute to the enhancement and preservation of Florida natural habitats, performing landscape installation. Daily work tasks include installation of grasses, shrubs, trees, and aquatic vegetation, as well as treatment of invasive vegetation. Operating a tractor, skid steer, UTV/ATV and 4-wheel drive pickups are a daily occurrence. Projects will involve technical field work in hot and humid conditions. A typical work day consists of 8 hours in‐the‐field performing plant management techniques, although, in accordance with the requirements of specific assignments, may include longer hours. This position may require occasional overnight travel.
Basic Qualifications
- Landscape Installation experience preferred
- Ability to work as a part of a small team
- Willingness to take field direction and learn
- Aptitude to learn to identify native and invasive plant material
- Knowledge of basic tools of the trade (shovel, hard rake, Sod rake, trimmers, augers, and back pack sprayers
- Willingness to adhere to safety policies
Desired Qualifications
- High school or greater preferred. Experience in the environmental services field preferred, but not required.
- Ability to obtain FDACS Commercial Applicator License as well as FNGLA certification.
- Bi-Lingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required. Must be able to read and write effectively as to prepare daily tasks, administrative paperwork, and email correspondence
- Microsoft Outlook preferred
- Must have a valid Florida driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to develop the basic knowledge of landscape installation and vegetation management
