FANN’s Nominating Committee, chaired by Past President Jenny Evans, has nominated 13 candidates to serve on the 2025 Board of Directors. The slate has been endorsed by the 2024 board, most members of which will continue to serve if elected by the general membership.

New nominees for Directors at Large:
Carly Batts
Carly Batts is the Owner and Operator of ‘B the Change Native Plants and Landscape Designs’ based in Jensen Beach Florida serving Martin & St. Lucie County’s native plant and landscape design needs.
Carly is a Florida Nursery, Growers and Landscape Association (FNGLA) Certified Horticulture Professional, and a Florida-Friendly Landscaping (FFL) Certified Professional. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from Stetson University and is currently pursuing a Masters in Soil & Water Science from the University of Florida. In addition she is also the President of the Martin County Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society. Most recently, Carly won an ‘Emerging Leader Under 30’ Award from the state for her work with native plants and environmentally innovative solutions in the urban landscape.
Her favorite native plant is the Scarlet Ladies’ Tresses orchid (Sacoila lanceolata) and has worked hard to restore this critically imperiled orchid to natural areas in her hometown.
In her spare time she loves to ride her Spotted Saddle horse, Quincy, in the many amazing places that make up Florida’s great outdoors!
Michelle Stafford
Michelle serves as a live good procurement manager with Juniper Landscaping, leveraging her industry, knowledge and expertise to source, high-quality products and services. Michelle is a seasoned professional with over 25 years of experience in the green industry. Her passion for horticulture was ignited early on, working summers at her grandparents’ Azalea nursery in Virginia. This early exposure fostered a deep appreciation for the industry, which has evolved into a successful career encompassing diverse roles.
Michelle brings a wealth of experience to the table, including owning her own lawn maintenance company, managing maintenance accounts, landscape design and overseeing enhancement projects. She has also demonstrated strong project management skills while working with large resorts and theme parks. Michelle is a member of the Florida Nursery, Growers, and Landscape Association (FNGLA) and a certified arborist with the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA).
